We are pleased to confirm that, following a thorough and transparent recruitment process, Tom Greatrex has been nominated by Supporters Direct to take on the role of the FA Council's second supporters representative later this month. Tom is a former Labour and Co-operative MP and is the current Chair of SD and Fulham Supporters' Trust (FST). His work at FST stretches back to 2003 when the group were instrumental in helping to preserve football at Craven Cottage, to today with FST leading the way with the structured dialogue agreement they have in place with the club to discuss pertinent issues.

Tom will serve for a 3-year term and will work alongside existing supporters' representative Malcolm Clarke, the chair of the Football Supporters' Federation (FSF). Commenting on the appointment, Tom said:

“I'm delighted to be joining Malcolm Clarke as one of the two supporters' representatives on the FA Council, and looking forward to building on the good work done by Kat Law over the last twelve months. From the implications of a possible sale of Wembley to the regulation and governance of football and ticketing arrangements and prices – there are many issues in the FA in tray where supporters have a direct interest and distinct views. As the FA strives to be more representative of, and responsive to, stakeholders in football, the perspective of supporters and the impact on fans should be an integral part of decision making now and into the future."

Tom will be replacing Katrina Law, SD England and Wales Council member and current co-chair of Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust. Kat has stepped down after a year due to the time constraints involved alongside her many other commitments. We’d like to thank Kat for her dedication to the role and the diligence in which she has represented supporters and SD over the past year.
